The BIG One

To all my readers: sorry for the long absence. These past months have been a blur of activity.  I can hardly believe that only a short while ago I was living in Japan.  Life certainly can change very quickly!

I want to brief you all on relevant goings-on in my life. Especially for those of you who are also considering a career in training, I want to highlight how some of the preparations I made really paid off. But more on that in a minute. Continue reading

Update – MIA

Hey everyone!

Sorry there hasn’t been much new content posted on the site the past couple of weeks.  I’ve been extremely busy with my move from Japan back to the states, studying to take the ACSM CPT exam, preparing for the wedding (only two weeks away) and moving to Bloomington, IN where my fiancée will start law school later this month.  It’s been a whirlwind of activity so far, and won’t slow down anytime soon.  However, here are some things I’ve got going in the works:

  • New movement videos, including:  core and squat, two of the fundamental movements.
  • Lots of pictures of scavenging Paleo food on-the-go, and new recipes from some of the deliciousness I’ve gotten myself in to since being back in the states.
  • Complete write-up of my experience with the ACSM test.  What I thought about content, structure, and overall value for your money.
  • Some DIY projects for making your own home equipment on the cheap.

I can’t thank you enough for your continued support and readership.  Keep sending me feedback and I’ll be sure to answer your questions just as soon as I can.

FreeFit Guy Updated!

Hey folks!

I wanted to let you know about some of the stuff I’ve got in the works.  First, you may notice that the theme has changed.  With the release of WordPress 3.2 and the 2011 theme, I decided to switch over for what I consider a much cleaner look.  I’ve tried to keep the same widgets/links in place, but if there’s anything that you can’t access, shoot me a message and I’ll get it taken care of ASAP.

You may also notice that I’ve redone the header bar.  Now, you have easy access to the three FreeFit Guy principles:  MOVE, EAT, LIVE, as well as a growing Exercise Library where you can learn proper technique for bodyweight movements and some tips for programming for yourself!  Finally, I’ve also added a Glossary page where you can find basic nutrition/fitness lingo and what it all means.  I’ll be adding to this pretty consistently as well.

I’m also working on getting new header graphic together for the site – hopefully it will be up in a week or so and FreeFit Guy will be snazzier than ever!

Finally, I’m always looking for recommendations on what I can improve, content you’d like to see, etc.  This entire site is built around giving you the tools to achieve your goals – so let me know what would help the most!
